Locating a very good koi pond installer in Southern California was difficult. I searched for over a year trying to find somebody who truly understood the difference between a Koi pond and a water garden. So many installers are dead set in the rock bottom, shallow pond with only a skimmer and biofalls for filtration. While this design is fine as a water garden with plants and goldfish, they don't normally make a great home for koi.
